Rose Ring Blog

This video has a little on the jewelmint.com purchase but it also features my new ROSE RINGS off etsy.com!!!  I am newly obsessed with these rings.  I found a seller on etsy.com Liz Hutnick and I love her rings!  They are so unique and special in their own way.  I received the rings and they are even better in person!  I was so thrilled.  I will place the link here.......
http://www.etsy.com/search/handmade/jewelry?q=LizHutnick&view_type=gallery&ship_to=US

Here is the video featuring the three four rings I purchased from her on etsy.com.  When I ordered, she had a great sale of buy three get on free.  The rings were $14 each, and like I said, I received the fourth one free.  Liz also sent a 20% off coupon of your next purchase with the rings which I will be using!

Check out this site!  Etsy.com has tons and tons of great and unique items whether you are looking for jewelry, clothing, art, or other accessories.  I could waste hours on this site because it has such unique items!  Here is the link for the homepage of Etsy.   http://www.etsy.com/

I hope everyone is having an absolutely lovely Christmas filled with lots of love  <3

Jewelmint is my new obsession! This is a site by Kate Bosworth and Cher Coulter that picks jewelry for you based on your personal style preferences. When you first sign up on their website, you select different styles you prefer based on some options they give you. They then give you options in your personal profile. If you doing like the options they select for you, you can discard the pieces you don't like and get new selections. The website is www.jewelmint.com
Members purchase jewelry for $29.99, but if you follow Jewelmint on twitter @jewelmint they always post promo codes. I got my first piece for $9.99 which I was sooooo excited about! I purchased the Silver Swan Necklace for my first purchase. I got it in the mail a couple days ago and I love love love it! It came in super awesome packaging as well! I took some pictures of my new Swan Bracelet!
The ring below is my next purchase! I LOVE THIS RING!

The ring below is my next purchase! I LOVE THIS RING!

I am sooo sorry for the bad quality of these pictures!  I do not have great lighting at my parents house which is where I did this.  I just ordered this ring so when I get it in I will do another blog with better pictures!  Check out this site!  It is awesomely awesome!

Some Of My All-Time Favorite Products: Products and Reviews

Products in order of appearance:

Simply Shampoo and Conditioner (Volumizing)

I LOVE this product.  It is a Paraben and Sulfate free product which are super good for your hair.  Other products I have tried that are Paraben and Sulfate free have made my hair feel sooooo nasty!  Almost like there is a film of oil in your hair.  I realize this is actually healthier for you hair because it is using the natural oils from your hair; however, is there an affordable, drugstore product that is good for your hair yet does not make it feel yuckie??? YES THERE IS....Simply.  It makes my hair so soft and silky and it really feels much healthier.  Also, after going through my first bottle, it seems to be repairing the ends of my hair.  I kept getting really bad split ends even right after a haircut.  I started using Simply about a month and a half ago and miraculously, my split ends are essentially gone!  The product does not claim to be a split end helper, but it must be a secret agent shampoo or something because it does!

I have the 'Volumizing' kind but the brand also has 'Color Protective' and  'Moisturizing'.  The large pump bottles are $5.99 each.  They also have smaller bottles for $3.99 each, so if you want to try it out before buying the huge bottles, you could get the smaller ones.  I would recommend this product to anyone because I love it that much!

got 2b Thickening Plumping Mousse

This is another product I have been using and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!  I am always looking for a good volume boosting product.  Many of them cause a greasy film or make your hair sticky, but this one does not!  It is great for everyday use because it does not add any weight to your hair.  I know my hair is 'poofed' in this video but this product creates volume even without teasing or back combing.  It comes out in a foamy consistency.  I put about a palm sized amount in my hand and work it through my damp hair.  I then blow-dry.  To create extra volume, I blow-dry with my head flipped upside down until my hair is about 75% dry.  I then flip my head to normal and blow-dry my hair in the opposite direction of my part.  I also do this for the crown of my head where I will tease my hair.  This creates more volume for all areas of your hair.

This product is at most drugstores and costs $5.99 per bottle.

Salon Grafix Shaping Hair Spray
I buy this product in the number 9 super hold.  There are different levels of hold.  The 9 is a fairly strong hold, so if you do not like a strong hold, I would suggest going down to maybe a 5 or 6.  WARNING: For some reason, there is a huge difference between the 9 and the 10 hold.  The 9 hold is a good, strong hold that is not sticky.  The 10 hold makes your hair very sticky and even has a white film to it that is left in your hair.  I do not know why the difference is so great, but I do like the 9 hold.  It is perfect to maintain volume but not make the hair stiff or sticky.

This is sold at most drugstores and costs $4.99-6.99.  I have seen it for different prices depending on where you get it.  It is on sale at Walgreens quite often so try there! : )

Wet N Wild Walking on Eggshells palette

I cannot say enough good things about this palette.  It has such great pigmentation and is long-lasting.  Add a little primer to your eyelids before applying the shadow and it is even better!  This palette creates such a natural, yet stand-out look.  The only downside I have found is the bad fall-out of the product.  A little trick: Apply a layer of loose powder under your eye before applying the shadow then after the shadow is applied, take a blush brush and swipe it underneath your eyes.  This removes fallout very well and does not leave the color of the shadow under your eyes like you can get if you do it with your finger or something.  I did do an eye shadow tutorial for this palette and I will place the like below.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHOk56Ht4RE

This product can be found at most drugstores and it is soooo inexpensive!!! They are $2.99 for the 3 color palettes and their 8 color palettes (which I also love) are $4.99.  Try them out!  You wont regret it!!!

Almay Truly Lasting Color liquid foundation
This is my favorite foundation I have ever found thus far in my life.  It has such a great consistency, not to thick but great coverage.  I would say on most days this foundation has a 10 hour lasting coverage.  My skin matches their BEIGE color, so that may be a reference point.  It also has SPF 15, and has never caused my skin to breakout or any weird thing like that!

This product can be found at most drugstores for around $12-14.

Maybelline Eyestudio Blackest Black  liquid eyeliner pot
I love this liner.  If you are looking for a very black, dark eyeliner (which I love and use) this is a great product for you!  It does take a little extra effort to use an eyeliner pot because you actually have to apply it with a brush instead of a basic pencil, but in my opinion, it is worth it!  It does come with an eyeliner brush; I am not a big fan of this brush.  I use my own liner brush instead.  A big problem with liquid eyeliner pots is they tend to dry out quickly, but so far, this product has not dried out at all.  The packaging is well designed and air tight so it has not had any dryness to it.

This product can be found at most drugstores and costs $7.99.

Femme Couture Lip Luster color Berries n Creme
I LOVE THIS LIP GLOSS!  I think, for me, it is so hard to find a good lip gloss that has everything you want in a lip gloss.  I want a good color, consistency, long-lasting, sticky but not too sticky...yes I know I ask a lot!  Well, I found all of these things in this lip gloss.  It is my favorite lip product right now!  I also love the color (kind of a baby pink).  It has a great finish and a perfect gloss.

This can be found only at beauty supply stores.  I found mine at Sally's Beauty Supply for $6.99.

CND super shiny top coat
Favorite nail product of my life.  This will correct any imperfections after painting your nails and makes your manicure last for a long time.  I use it literally every time I paint my nails.  It is also great because a little bit goes a long way...I have had the bottle in the video for over a year and have not used much, even though I use it all the time!! It also has not dried out or crusted over at all.

You can only find this brand at beauty supply stores.  I am not sure if they have it at Sally's Beauty Supply, but my stylist got it from Peels for I believe around $15.  They also have smaller bottles of this product.

OK! So these are my favorite products right now!  I do have several other products I use almost daily but these are my go-to products!  I hope you liked this post! YAY!

Look for Less!

Do you ever see a celeb...you love their outfit...but you know you could never afford it?  I do!  I saw this picture of Kim Kardashian and I loved, loved, loved her dress and the whole outfit in general.  I finally found a dress that is super similar to her's and jewelry and shoes as well!  I have been searching for an inexpensive dress similar to this for awhile now.  I love the long sleeves with the architectural structure on the shoulders.  This is quite popular right now and  I love this outfit so much because it can be worn for various occasions: a night out on the town, date night, a party, a special event, wedding, etc.  It is dressy, classy, fashionable, and adorable!  Hope you enjoy!

I am going to be doing Kim Kardashian's look, but here are some pictures of other celebs who are following this trend......

HERE IS THE LOOK FOR LESS!!!

I paired the dress first with a silver necklace (like Kim Kardashian), but I am kind of obsessed with gold jewelry right now so I thought I would do a gold look as well!  I also paired it with nude heels instead of black because I liked the contrast of the colors better than black heels, but you can pretty much wear any color with the black dress!

Dress: Forever 21 $24.80

What it looks like on a person!

Necklaces:
Silver Necklace: Forever 21  $10.80----I could not find this online anymore, but I did order it a couple
months ago so it may not be on there anymore.

Gold Necklace: Forever 21  $10.80----I could only find the silver version online, but they do have the gold
    in stores

Shoes: BKE brand from Buckle $59.99---I don't usually like Buckle's merchandise but I found these nude heels and I LOVE them!  The material is kind of a suede material.  They do have a little platform which makes them comfy! (well as comfy as heels can be) I did get these approximately a year ago so I do not know if they have them in stock anymore, but nude heels are fairly easy to find online.  I just browsed Zappos.com and they have many cute ones!

I hope you all liked this!!!  Now you know where to get this trendy look inexpensively!

Review on 10DollarMall

So, I recently found this website called 10DollarMall.  At first, I was very skeptical, but as I began to look at their merchandise, I instantly fell in love.  I mean...I would LOVE to be able to buy all the expensive clothes I wanted, but unfortunately, when you are in Grad School, that is really not an option.  Even if you are not in school, it is still not an option for many people.  There is also the issue of me loving clothes and wanting lots of them, so I have to look for deals!  My rationale for shopping is that you can still find cute, fashionable clothes.  Then you get more clothes for less money...WAHOO!  10 Dollar Mall is a great website to find inexpensive clothing.  My understanding of this site is that department stores and other clothing stores sell their merchandise to 10 Dollar Mall, and they sell it for super cheap on their website.  Now, I am not saying all of the clothing on their website it cute or fashionable.  Actually, some if the stuff is plain ugly but you can find some very good clothes and some are higher end brands.  The first time I ordered from the website I actually got a Steve Madden dress (for $10 I might add!)  A lot of the clothing is department store brands so they are really great quality.  The large warning I will mention is the sizes do tend to run small, so you may need to order a size larger than you normally would.  The first time ordering, I found out what I cannot order from there.  For example, I have a large bust so their dresses don't really fit well in that area!  I loved the shirts and jackets I ordered though, so the second time I ordered, I loved everything I got!  Their jewelry is super, super cheap too!  I got a very cute necklace for $2.50!  Here are some pictures of some items I have ordered and absolutely love, love, love!  I don't necessarily love how these pieces are styled on these models but the pieces themselves I love!

I have gotten lots more, but to see my youtube post on my latest purchases visit:
http://www.youtube.com/user/kenlynjogordon?feature=mhsn#p/a/u/1/KEVgUuKoaTM

I wish I could find a picture online of the Steve Madden dress I got from there because it is so cute but I can't so you will just have to trust me : )  I absolutely love this site.  You may have to do some browsing, but you can find really cute clothes and jewelry for $10 or under.  You really can't beat that price, especially for quality clothes!  Here is the link       http://www.10dollarmall.com/     It is also great because shipping is also super inexpensive. I think I have paid $3.50 both times and it arrives is less than a week!

Check it out and see what you think. Like I said, you can't always buy as many expensive clothes as you wish you could, so this site is a good alternative to find inexpensive, cute clothes!

OOTD

I obviously like to make kissy faces!  : P

Alrighty, so this is my OOTD for a windy November Wednesday.  *Soap Box Moment: I love Fall/Winter fashion, but I hate, hate, hate, hate the cold weather.  Too bad I live in the Midwest......*  Anyways, this is what I am wearing:

Bed Jacket: Black, Grey, Ivory flowered bed jacket from Target ($8)

Necklace: Vera Wang bead and chain necklace with leather tie from Kohl's ($14)

Outfit of the Day

My first OOTD post!  Sorry for the bad picture quality!  Today I went kind of funky.

Skirt: Forever 21...approx $7
Shirt: Express....not sure on the price bc I have had it for awhile!
Belt: Forever 21.....$3
Cardigan: Younkers.....$12

I paired this with black tights from Target because brrrrrrrrrr! it's cold out and black open toe flats with gold detail from express.  Sorry I couldn't get the shoes in the picture but I did this at work so my options were limited!  I also wore a golden leaf bracelet that I found at a thrift store and a Forever 21 chunky ring.

My hair...I did my standard 'poof' and side swept my hair back on the same side as my part.  I think this is a little variation on the normal hair-do when women pull the opposite side of their part back.  I like this on me because I like to get my hair out of my face : )

Me Blogging? How Weird.

This is me...kinda a goofy picture but hey, I am a goofy gal.  So, I never thought I would be one to have a blog, but lately, I have been reading various blogs and watching youtube channels of your everyday average woman who love fashion.  I instantly related to them and figured I would start as well.  I love hair, make-up, and fashion.  I have been doing hair for years and years.  I love experimenting and coming up with unique and exciting designs.  I do not claim to be a professional , but it is a hobby that I love, love.  Maybe my next post will be some photos of hair designs I have created.  I also love fashion.  Anyone who knows me would not debate this.  I wear quirky clothes, but I love them.  I love putting different pieces together to create something different!  I always get comments from people about how I did my hair or make-up or where I got my clothes, so that is ultimately why I am starting this blog and youtube channel.  I do believe some people have a "fashion sense", but I also believe anybody can learn how to do any of this stuff!  Hopefully I can provide some tips :)

I suppose one could consider this a fashion blog but I will most likely sneak in some blogs about life in general as well!  Here is the URL to my new YOUTUBE CHANNEL!!!!  http://www.youtube.com/user/kenlynjogordon?feature=mhee

Make sure to check it out...I will be posting videos on: Outfit Of The Day, how-to's, hair and make-up tutorials, Bargain Boxes, reviews on products, New Goodies, and some other random things I think of!  So subscribe to my channel and stay posted here as well! :)  Suggestions on topics or tutorials are encouraged!

Well that is all for my first blog! YAY!
